Frequently asked questions

What clients ask before we start.

How James Enterprises works with companies selling into international markets — what we do, how engagements are structured, and where the boundaries sit.

01

How does James Enterprises help companies win international business?

We place an experienced senior commercial operator inside your business for as long as you need one. We help you navigate cross-border transactions, position your products or services for buyers who don't share your assumptions, and lead the meetings where the outcome is actually decided.

Companies expanding into a new market rarely need an agency. They need one person who has done it before, from both sides of the table.

02

What difference does a native English-speaking commercial advisor make?

For companies whose first language is not English, a considerable one. Subtle cultural and linguistic details decide deals, and the advantage compounds in three places:

  • Credibility and authority. A native English-speaking executive presenting alongside your team earns trust with foreign corporate buyers, investors and partners far faster than a translated deck ever will.
  • Commercial persuasion. We write, review and refine your sales decks, marketing materials and website copy so your message lands the way you intended rather than the way it was translated.
  • Negotiation leverage. We join live commercial calls to advocate for your business, so you never misread buyer intent or concede ground because of a language or cultural gap.

For clients who already operate in English, the value runs the other way: a commercial operator who understands how European markets actually work, and who has sold into them.

03

What does James Enterprises offer Polish companies expanding abroad?

We are based in Poland and registered here, and the firm works natively in both languages — a native Polish speaker and a native English speaker in the same small team. That combination is the whole point.

Polish exporters usually have to choose between two imperfect options: a Polish consultancy that understands the business but not how a foreign buyer thinks, or a foreign agency that understands the buyer but has to be taught the business from scratch. We are both, in one place. Conversations happen in Polish. Materials, presentations and negotiations happen in native English. Nothing is lost in the handover, because there is no handover.

We work with Polish companies expanding into the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and markets around the globe.

04

What specific business services do you provide?

We focus on high-impact commercial advisory and execution — turning international growth plans into closed deals:

  • International business strategy and execution. Identifying target markets, pricing strategy and distribution channels — and knowing which opportunities to decline.
  • Executive commercial messaging. Marketing materials, sales presentations and company messaging that sound native, professional and persuasive rather than translated.
  • Outsourced sales and business development. Acting as your commercial presence abroad — approaching buyers, running the pipeline, and representing you in person at international trade shows and industry events.
  • Distribution and partner selection. Vetting distributors and agents, qualifying international leads, and guiding your team through cross-border sales cycles.
  • Web infrastructure for international buyers. Fast, credible websites built to earn trust from a buyer who has never heard of you.
05

What kinds of companies do you work with, and where?

We partner primarily with small and medium-sized enterprises offering specialised, high-value products or services with genuine export potential — industrial machinery, specialised technical services, consumer goods.

Engagements have spanned Scandinavia, Poland, the United States and Australia. The firm is based in Poland and maintains long-standing commercial ties to the United States. The common thread is not geography: it is a company with something genuinely good that is not yet understood outside its home market.

06

How do you handle legal questions that arise during negotiations?

Commercial strategy is built with risk in view — knowing where a deal creates exposure, which terms actually matter, and when a lawyer needs to be in the room.

James Enterprises does not provide legal services. Where formal legal work is required — contract drafting, legal opinions, governing law and jurisdiction — it is handled separately by the affiliated law practice, RBJ.law.

07

Can Roger Barrett James serve on our advisory or supervisory board (Rada Nadzorcza)?

Yes. We provide independent, board-level strategic counsel to companies preparing for international scaling, investor readiness or global partnerships — whether as a member of a Polish supervisory board (Rada Nadzorcza) or in an advisory board role elsewhere.

Roger brings over 25 years of international business and legal experience across five continents, helping boards make sound decisions before capital is committed.

08

How are engagements structured?

Flexible arrangements, shaped around your expansion goals:

  • Fractional commercial executive, on monthly retainer. Ongoing support covering strategy, native English communication, sales pipeline advice and live negotiation support.
  • Project-based growth initiatives. Fixed-scope assignments such as market entry plans, website overhauls or partner vetting campaigns.
  • Board advisory roles. Structured supervisory board (Rada Nadzorcza) or advisory board positions.
